Update January 1st. 2014: Yukon got adopted to a great home. He will be friends with Sparky and get lots of love and attention.
Yukon has been at the shelter for quite awhile. Everyone loves him. He is a big hugger of joy and happiness. He definitely needs something to do to have his husky life fulfilled. He would make a great pet and skijor dog. We are going to run him this week and will post how he does. He loves other dogs and would be that companion to run and hike with.
I’Ve got two and a half fenced acres here in South Anchorage. The whole yard is surrounded with invisible fence. I have a plant nursery. I currently have 3 dogs: an 18 y/o small female husky, a 3 year old male husky and a basset hound. What I’m looking for is a female husky about a year old that would fit into the pack. There are occasional black bears that come over the fence. I had a female who would get them out of here, but I lost her on Turnagain Arm last winter, and I miss her very much. I would like a husky, not one bred for running, but one I could use for skijoring and as a friendly greater at the nursery in the summer. Please keep me in mind. It would also be nice if she were a rabbit hunter as I now have a rabbit problem since I lost Loki.
Thank you,
Doug Tryck
please keep me in mind.
Hi Doug!
I will certainly keep you in mind. There are a lot of huskies at the Fairbanks shelter right now but only 2 are girls and probably not what you are looking for. Ariel is extremely shy, but very sweet. Azimuth is a dominant female and she might work out great, but she might pick on your older girl. She does love people and kids though!
So I will keep you in mind when other dogs come into the shelter and hopefully be able to find a dog for you
Thanks for the post!
